Become a Member-Owner

Thank you for your interest in joining the Greene Hill Food Co-op! Being a member-owner of our cooperative community isn’t just about shopping. It’s about having an equal say in how we run, what we carry, helping to keep our prices fair by working a shift, and much more. We make decisions based on our Guiding Principles and have a number of Community Agreements to set intentions and behaviors.

Membership is open to any person over 18, agreeing to make an investment and commit to work a shift – at least 2.5 hours every 4 weeks.

Your information will be kept private by the Membership and IT Committees. Membership payments are processed by Stripe, and no card or banking information is saved on our server.

Please contact us if you encounter any issues while becoming a member. For technical support, please contact our IT Committee. For questions regarding membership in general, please contact our Membership Committee. If you were previously a part of the Co-op and would like to reactivate your membership, please email our Membership Committee. Thanks!

Member Information
Member Demographics
The Co-op collects self-identified demographic information from member-owners to help understand our community and work more effectively toward our goal of being an anti-racist organization that reflects diversity of our neighborhood.
Membership Application
While signing up for a recurring store shift is highly preferred (to maintain store operations), for members whose schedule cannot accommodate that - we also offer committee work (which can often be done remotely). If interested, please email the Membership Committee and/or the committee of your choice.
If you live with any other Co-op members, please list their name here. Members may work for other household members by simply clocking in as them when doing their shift. Feel free to speak to the Shifts team for more info
How did you hear about the Co-op?
Initial to confirm that you agree to the Co-op's Guiding Principles.
Please initial here: I acknowledge here that I am over 18 years of age and understand the rights, privileges and responsibilities of membership including attending a 1 hour orientation session.
Please initial here: I acknowledge that my membership financial investment is meant to support the growth of the Co-op. Any redemption timing is determined by the Board of Directors as per the bylaws and is based on the Co-op's fiscal health. The Co-op currently has a moratorium on membership equity redemptions. I understand that often members choose to donate their investment if they must resign.
